Tebas wrote: "FIFA has once again denied the rumors. Nothing new. Denying rumors has almost become an institutionalized practice for FIFA."
He then turned his attention to the person who made the claim about the final: "This is not a journalist, nor a social media rumor. It is Fauci Lekja, the president of the Moroccan Football Federation and a member of the FIFA Council."
The situation reflected by Tebas is that two institutions that should be moving in the same direction have given contradictory versions: "Who is lying: a chairman of a tournament bidding party, a member of the FIFA Council, a Moroccan government minister? Or should we once again believe the official denials from FIFA under Gianni Infantino's leadership?"
