French Football Federation President Philippe Diallo stated on RMC's "Génération After" program that France is considering bidding to host the 2038 World Cup.
The 2030 World Cup will be held in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, while the 2034 World Cup will be hosted by Saudi Arabia. The 2038 World Cup may return to Europe, exactly 100 years after France first hosted the tournament.
Regarding the bidding plan, Diallo said, "This is a topic worth considering. But with the expansion to 48 teams, one country can no longer host it independently. Look at the United States..." The 2026 World Cup is jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and if France decides to bid, it will need at least one partner.
When asked about the possibility of cooperating with Germany, Diallo said, "It's a reasonable partnership." France hosted the World Cup twice, in 1938 and 1998.
