However, when the question became "Are you number one?", his answer changed.
Benzema did not place himself as the greatest of all time, but instead named Ronaldo as the greatest number 9 of all time.
This answer comes against the backdrop of equally fierce competition for the Ballon d'Or, with both Dembele and Mbappe among the French nominees.
Le Parisien believes that a Paris Saint-Germain player should receive the award; Mbappe, on the other hand, has the advantage due to his outstanding season, including becoming the all-time top scorer in World Cup history and the top scorer in the Champions League last season.
