Multitalented, former Liverpool winger Babel has devoted himself to the music and fashion industries after retiring from the sport.

According to the Liverpool Echo, former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel has turned to the music and fashion industry after retiring from professional football.

Babel came through the Ajax youth academy and joined Rafa Benitez's Liverpool in 2007 for £11.5 million. During his three and a half years at Anfield, he made 146 appearances and scored 22 goals.

After leaving Liverpool, Babel played in Germany, Spain, Turkey, England, the UAE and the Netherlands, and officially retired in 2024 at the age of 37.

In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Babel said: "Throughout my career, I've been involved in various projects. I've been in the music industry for a long time. I mainly have several artists in Los Angeles, one in Amsterdam, and a producer in the UK."

He said, “Music has always been a part of my life, and I enjoy it. Although it may not always be a good business decision from an investment perspective, it started as a hobby and later developed into a business. I enjoy managing these things in my spare time.”

Besides music, Babel also runs a fashion agency in Paris, primarily serving athletes interested in fashion by helping them connect with brands, arrange fashion week events, and develop brand rebranding or social media strategies.

Babel said, "These are just some of the projects I've been involved in. Now, I'm enjoying trying things I couldn't do during my playing career."

When asked about the possibility of coaching, Babel said, "Maybe in the future, but I'm not mentally ready right now. After retiring, I occasionally coach players under the age of 14 or 16. It feels good to help them and guide them to improve. That passion is still there, but I won't rule it out."

Babel's Liverpool career ended in January 2011 when he was sold to Hoffenheim. Although he left Liverpool without winning any trophies, he was a member of the 2009 Premier League runner-up squad and also helped the Netherlands reach the 2010 World Cup final.

After that, Babel returned to Ajax, and then played for Kasimpasa, Al Ain in the UAE, Deportivo La Coruña, Besiktas, Fulham, Galatasaray and Ajax, before finally ending his playing career with Eyup Sports in the Turkish second division.
